REI Chrysalis UL Tent

With the REI Chrysalis UL tent, solo backpacking no longer means carrying a lot of extra weight or being cooped up in a small bivy sack.

* The freestanding REI Chrysalis uses ultralight, silicone-coated nylon fabrics and lightweight aluminum poles
* Single door features a vestibule that doesn't skimp on space for gear storage
* Lightweight ripstop nylon rainfly offers durability and weight savings; silicone treatment gives long-lasting weatherproofness
* Strategically placed vestibule roof vent allows excellent airflow to prevent condensation; can be accessed while sitting inside the tent
* No-see-um mesh panels and no-see-um mesh door allow cross-ventilation, preventing condensation
* All in one hub-pole system is easy to use; DAC SL Featherlite® poles save weight
* Color-coded rainfly corners allow easy orientation of rainfly on tent for fast, easy setup
* Leak-proof rainfly construction ensures that water won't sneak through susceptible areas such as guyout points and zippers
* Main zipper flap is stiffened with polyurethane which makes it more leak-proof and prevents snagging
* Attention to detail shows in the reflective guy points and zipper pulls, and adjustable REI Cleat Lock tie-downs on vestibules
* Comes with guylines and tighteners, stakes, pole repair tube, pole and stake bags, and tapered, easy-to-stuff compression stuff sack
* Average minimum weight specification is based on tent, rainfly and poles only
* Footprint (sold separately) extends the life of your tent by protecting it from abrasive wear and tear

squishy's review

I took this out for two outings so far and I find it to be a very handy tent. Condensation was minimal in the morning fog of Pinnacles National Monument, and in Desolation Wilderness it proved warm and dry while enduring a random spring snow storm. The vestibule is large enough to live with but bring a pack cover, there's was no room for your bag inside. Ventilation is adequate, and setup was as easy as... Well, as easy as a one pole tent, because it is a one pole tent. This tent also held up one side of my buddies SD non-free standing tent because he forgot his poles. I found this awesome little burrito for a little over 100 bucks on REI outlet, the footprint was under 10 bucks! I believe there may be a few left...
